Privacy Policy

Penny is a shared pet-care tracker made for households. To do its job it needs some information about you, your household, and your pets — and nothing more. Three things up front:
Data we collect

| Account | Your email address, display name, and Apple/Google sign-in identifiers. Passwords are handled by our authentication provider — we never see them. |
| Household | Household name, its members, their roles, and invite codes. |
| Pets & care | Pet names, species, birthdates, notes, and photos; care routines (meals, meds, litter); medication name, dosage, and form; and a log of completed tasks including who completed them and when. |
| Photos | Pet and member photos you choose to upload. Entirely optional. |
| Notifications | A device push token, your notification preferences, and your household’s time zone. |
| Subscription | Your subscription status and entitlement, from Apple and our subscription manager. We never receive or store card or payment details — Apple handles payment. |
| Diagnostics | Crash reports and technical data (device model, OS version, app state at the time of a crash), used only to fix bugs. |
What we do not collect
- Advertising identifiers
- Precise location — we only store a timezone name (like “America/Chicago”)
- Your contacts
- Browsing history
- Payment card details
Service providers
A few trusted services process data on our behalf, only to run Penny — never for their own purposes:

Sharing within your household
Penny is built for sharing — within your household only. Your pets, care routines, and the care log (including your name on tasks you complete) are visible to the other members of your household. New members are added only with an admin’s approval.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app via Me → profile → Delete account, or by emailing us. Care-log history is preserved for the household, so the shared record stays intact for its remaining members.
Security
All data travels over HTTPS/TLS. Database-level access control ensures only members of your household can read your household’s data.
Children
Penny is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data. Most of this is doable directly in the app; for anything else, email us and we’ll help.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
