How do households work?
A household is your shared space in Penny. One person creates it (they’re the owner), adds pets and care routines, and invites family members. Everyone in the household sees the same pets and routines, can log care, and gets reminders. Admins manage routines and members; members log care.
What’s free, and what does Penny Household add?
The free tier is the complete product for a solo caretaker: unlimited pets, all reminders, logging, offline sync, and full history.
Penny Household ($5.99/mo or $39.99/yr, with a $29.99 first-year intro price on yearly) unlocks the shared household: inviting family members, roles, and updates when someone logs a task — plus future premium features. Only the owner subscribes; it covers everyone they invite.
How do I invite someone to my household?
Inviting requires an active Penny Household plan. From the app, share an invite with your family member; they join free — joiners never pay.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
Nothing is deleted. First, Apple’s own grace period applies. After that, Penny gives you a 14-day in-app grace period. If the plan still isn’t renewed, the household “pauses” for members — the owner keeps full access the whole time. All data is preserved, and everything is restored for everyone the moment the plan renews.
Subscriptions & purchases
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are handled by Apple. Go to Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone, then choose Penny to change or cancel your plan.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same account, then use the app’s Restore purchases option. Make sure you’re signed in to the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.
Notifications
My reminders aren’t showing up.
Two switches need to be on: notifications for Penny in iOS Settings → Notifications, and your reminder preferences in the app under Me → Reminders.
Also note: reminders fire in your household’s timezone, so if you’re traveling, they’ll follow the schedule back home where your pet is.
Account
How do I reset my password or change my email?
Forgot your password? Tap Forgot password? on the sign-in screen and we’ll email you a code. To change your email address, go to Me → profile → Email in the app.
How do I delete my account?
In the app, go to Me → profile → Delete account. You can also email us and we’ll take care of it. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to household data.
